Breeding conditions:

A lot of open water around archipelago, which means good feeding conditions for sea-birds. Lemming and fox numbers were low, as in 1991-94. Weather conditions for waders and geese were favourable, but only 2 nests of Calidris maritima and 2 broods of Branta bernicla were found. Groups of non-breeding C.maritima were met. Breeding of skuas was not confirmed, Snowy Owls did not breed too.
